Since 1969, Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) has been dedicated to supporting individuals with home care needs in Lawrence and the surrounding area. Our Help at Home services are designed to make it easier for you to maintain your independence, whether you live at home or in an assisted living facility. Our team is here to provide assistance with everyday activities, offering both short-term and long-term care solutions.

What is Help at Home?

Help at Home offers non-medical care provided by trained caregivers who specialize in personal care assistance, companion care, and homemaker services. This service helps you stay comfortable, safe, and independent in your own home or residence.

Our Services Include:

  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Shopping and errands
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Transportation to appointments
  • Companionship and caregiver respite
  • Bathing, shaving, and grooming assistance
  • Eating assistance
  • Medication set-up
  • Overnight care

Dementia Care

Caring for a loved one with dementia can be difficult, but you don’t have to face it alone. VNA’s certified dementia care aides offer the specialized help you need. For more information, call us at 785-843-3738.

CareLink™: Emergency Support at Your Fingertips

Visiting Nurses is proud to partner with CareLink, a personal emergency response system that reduces complications associated with falls or other health-related emergencies. With CareLink, help is just the touch of a button away.

Payment Information

We offer a free initial visit to customize your care plan. However, clients are responsible for the cost of services, as Help at Home is not covered by Medicare or Medicaid. Some or all costs may be covered by long-term care insurance policies or Veterans Administration Benefits. Please check with your insurance provider for more details.

Home Safety Evaluation: Ensuring a Safe and Independent Home for Seniors

As we age, the risk of falling becomes a significant concern. According to the National Council on Aging, falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries for older adults. The good news is that falls are largely preventable, and a Home Safety Evaluation from Visiting Nurses can help you make the necessary adjustments to reduce these risks.

Our Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Senior Home Safety Specialists have the expertise to evaluate your home and identify potential hazards. With their help, you can create a safer living environment that supports your independence and wellbeing.
